Pranayama and some simple home remedies for morning sicknesss

Morning sickness is something almost all women suffer during pregnancy, except it doesnt strike only in the morning. Nausea can occur any time and for the oddest of reasons. However, pranayama is a wonderful technique that can alleviate nausea and the other aches and pains of pregnancy. Nadi shodana pranayama(or alternate nostril breathing) is a good example of a breathing technique that can be used to induce a feeling of wellbeing during pregnancy.

Coming to the simple home remedies, try lemon juice mixed with honey. Have a teaspoon of this every morning as soon as you wake up. It is also considered an effective agent in weight loss - something all new mothers want. Another effective nausea remedy is ginger, sometimes eaten as is and at other times, mixed with lemon and honey.

Yoga Nidra

This is a 28-minute yoga nidra with body awareness, breath awareness and creative visualization. Make yourself comfortable on your mat or bed or whatever surface you like, but as I always say, don't get too comfortable. You don't want to sleep through the practice. Lay down in shavasan. If you are pregnant and practicing yoga nidra, take up whatever posture is most comfortable to you. Remember that this technique of deep relaxation is an absolutely amazing stress-buster. It is bound to take care of any stress in your life and put out stress-related negative states of body and mind. Yoga nidra can be practiced during pregnancy, and even more so, during the post natal phase. It is a very important aid in postnatal recovery.
I hope you enojoy this.
