The Road to Nirvana
We have been travellers for quite a long time now. At the end of five months and two road trips, i am sitting in a house overlooking vast expanses of ocean and writing......
I am in the Kapiti Coast of New Zealand, wondering if this is my home - it does feel like it. My new home. We drove through amazing landscape. Some of it looked like another planet....... it brought my mind to another dimension instantly.
What I am experiencing is a slowing down of thought.....the same sort of thing that happens when you meditate or practice yoga. Being in nature seems to have that effect on me. One pranayama in particular - nadi shodhana - can be practiced (there are numerous such practices) to augment that effect. I will discuss them in future postings.
Just before coming here, we visited stonehenge in England. The place has such an aura about it, you have to be there to beleive it. The reason i'm even mentioning it is because the stones inspired such a sense of awe in me - everytime i sit down to practice pranayama or meditation i recall the magnitude and stillness of those stones to get me started. Visualization is a great practice.
I love sharing my thoughts and experiences as they occur......its been a most satisfying time traveling........nothing stirs my mind and soul as much.....

The moment is a gift
Deepak chopra says very eloquently in his book "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success"
about the present:
The past is history
The future is a mystery
This moment is a gift
That is why it is called The Present.
Well, i dont know if i said it in his words exactly, but i found it to be a very meaningful and telling reminder that all we have is the moment - better live it!
